I am a statistics PhD student at Cornell University. My research centers around designing efficient algorithms to allow for the estimation of high-dimensional multivariate time series. As a result, I spend a disproportionate amount of time programming in R. I created this blog to record some of the tricks and shortcomings of R that I have learned over the years, both for my own benefit and with the hope that may be useful to others. I have additional side interests in sports analytics and longform journalism, which may be the subject of future posts.
If you have any questions about the material on my blog, please feel free to email me at wbn8@cornell.edu or visit my website at www.wbnicholson.com.
